Jaime Winstone plays the teacher Ellie
Louth International Film Festival 2024 kicks off on Friday in Dundalk, World Cannes Award winning movie An Irish Angel, to feature as one of the opening day films.
Screening at the IMC Cinema in Dundalk at 3.35pm, Empire Productions will be attending with a few of its stars of the movie, and the producers feel the film should make a wonderful opening impact to the event.
The movie stars Jaime Winstone (Daughter of Ray Winstone and star of Kidulthood, Made in Dagenham and Wild Bill and Julian Glover (Game of Thrones, James Bond, Indiana Jones and Last crusade) who are intending to make an appearance for the screening.
The movie was written and directed by Danny Patrick a former resident of Derry City now living in London, and was shot mainly in Derry City with some additional photography in Portrush and Louth, around Muirhevnamor Park
The movie is about Aine (Niamh James) is a secondary school girl from the wrong side of the tracks, who lives in Portrush, NI with her mother Margaret who works as a cleaner for a local office and her grandmother Agnes who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Jaime Winstone plays Ellie her teacher and confident. Julian Glover plays Father Reitel who has known the family for a number of years.
