Derry man Mark McChrystal captained Bristol Rovers to a dramatic victory over Grimsby Town in the Vanarama Conference play-off final at Wembley Stadium this afternoon.
McChrystal (pictured) climbed the steps of the famous stadium to collect the trophy after a 5-3 win in a penalty shoot-out after the game finished 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes and extra-time.
The medal collected by the 30-year-old defender adds to the silverware he won with Derry City when his hometown club won the League of Ireland League Cup in 2008 and First Division title in 2010.
As a result of the win, Bristol Rovers will be playing the SkyBet League 2 next season.
