UNISON Community Branch have paid tribute to the work being done at Derry's House in the Wells community branch.

A UNISON spokesperson said: "We would like to pass on our gratitude and admiration to the workers at the House in the Wells project in Derry.

"Yesterday they held their annual open day and barbecue, which was again a huge success.

"Anyone walking around the project today would have been humbled by the work going on  there, work which is invaluable in terms of outcomes for those using the service and the community at large.

"UNISON Community Branch members are a stabling force within the local community and this is clearly reflected within the House in the Wells.

"This year we also remember UNISON member BJ Mc Veigh who was a valued member of the staff team in the House in the Wells and who’s passion and care for the marginalised will be missed."
