NHL Div 2A: Antrim come behind to defeat Derry at Celtic Park

DERRY 2-12, ANTRIM 1-21 Derry lost their opening 2016 National Hurling League Division 2A game to Antrim at Celtic Park this afternoon. The home led by five points at half-time on a scoreline of 1-08 to 0-06, thanks to a goal from Slaughtneil’s Gareth O’Kane (pictured) and Swatragh’s Ruairi Convery (6) and Banagher’s Shane Farren. Scores from Johnston, McKenna and McCloskey reduced the deficit to two points less than 10 minutes after the restart. A Ciaran Clarke goal put the visitors in front for the first time in the 47th minute on a scoreline of 1-09 to 1-08 – and they never looked back from there - going on to add a further 12 points to run out comfortable winners on a final scoreline of 1-21 to 2-12.
