IN PICTURES: Gaelcholáiste Dhoire talent recognised at GAA Awards

The number of Gaelcholáiste Dhoire pupils who are gaining recognition for their sporting achievements is rising and this year was no exception

Emmet Óg Mac Íomhair

There was no surprise among Emmet Óg’s friends, colleagues and teachers when he was awarded a Future Stars award this year having attended the trials in Queens University.

Emmet captained the Forester's Cup Team this year and he gave a great account of himself in each and every match. Emmet Óg is also a great football player and he represented the county on the minor team this year. A quiet young man who stands his ground no matter what the opposition throws at him. A giant on the playing field and the recipient of a well-deserved award this year.

Is cuid den céad gluain eile iad Emmet ÓG agus Peadar Pio ag leanúint dea shampla Cathal rud amháin atá cinnte ná go bhfuil todhchaí geal ós ár gcomhair. Don céad uair roghnaíodh beirt ar foireann Future Stars ó GCD agus táimid an bhródúil astu.

Emmet Óg and Peadar Pios represent the next generation of Gaelcholáiste Dhoire hurlers who are following in the footsteps of Cathal and his generation.  It is the first time that two players from the school were selected for the Future Stars team and it is clear that the future of Gaelic Games in the school is in very safe hands.
