Mountain View Lodges & Spa - celebrating three years in business

Nestled in the beautiful countryside, just a short distance from the Glenshane Pass, Mountain View Lodges and Spa combines both luxury and fantastic amenities making it the perfect retreat for couples and families alike.

Set up by local man Barry McKenna in the midst of the pandemic, the Kirley Road accommodation has grown considerably over the last three years.

Located behind the McKenna family farm, Mountain View was launched back in 2020 with just two glamping pods.

Now, the popular facility boasts nine luxury cabins, including The Shepherd's Hut, a horse drawn carriage style lodge suitable for two people, and Shane's House, which sleeps up to four guests and has a jacuzzi hot tub and private sauna.

Each lodge has its own individual style and is finished to the highest standards.

Mountain View has lots more to offer, including a communal bar area, a children's play park, a treatment room for spa treatments, a relaxation room and hot tubs, making it the perfect retreat for a romantic night away, staycations, hen parties and family getaways.

A short drive from the towns of Maghera, Draperstown and Dungiven, Mountain View Lodges and Spa is very much a family run business with Barry's brother Jonathan taking care of all the maintenance on site and his sister Louise looking after bookings and admin.

With guests travelling from as far away as Offaly and Meath, as well as Belfast and Newry, the site, which boasts spectacular views of the local countryside, is perfect for couples and is very much family orientated.

With the option to book out the entire facility, it's also the perfect location for a girl's night away, hen parties or a family get-together.

To celebrate a very successful three years in business, the team at Mountain View Lodges and Spa are hosting a family open day on Sunday, March 26.

Locals, and those from further afield, are welcome to come along and view the accommodation and facilities on offer.

There will be lots on offer for all the family including live music and a BBQ.
