Mid Ulster Arts Festival - launches March 2023!

It’s time for a celebration of the arts! A month long mix of entertainment, music, drama, exhibitions and workshops will shine a light on Mid Ulster’s arts scene for the very first time. Running from 1 – 31 March, the Mid Ulster Arts Festival is a showcase of the local Art scene in Mid Ulster with a range of events offering something for everyone.  

From St Patrick’s Day celebrations to Seachtain Na Gaeilge, stage performances to literary events, exhibitions to creative dance and much more, the Arts Festival provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in what the District has to offer. Events will take place right across Mid Ulster including the Burnavon, Hill of The O’Neill & Ranfurly House, Seamus Heaney HomePlace, Bardic Theatre, An Carn and more. 

Blackwater Ceili Band: The renowned Black Water Ceili Band will perform Hill of The O’Neill on St. Patrick’s Day for the festival celebration.

For those wishing to try their hand at something creative or learn a new skill, come along to a number of arts and craft workshops ranging from Hand Embroidery to Spring Wreath Making. Whilst an exclusive exhibition of Seamus Heaney archived materials and World Poetry Day readings cater for the literary minds, tea dances and Children’s activities means that the whole family can become involved!

Ulster Orchestra: The Ulster Orchestra will take to the stage at the Burnavon in March as part of the Mid Ulster Arts Festival,

Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Córa Corry commented;

“Mid Ulster District Council are always immensely proud of our local people and the vast amount of talent existing within the Arts sector in Mid Ulster. 

It is fantastic to have this festival as a platform, showcasing and celebrating the work that is done across our district. I encourage everyone to come along and support the diverse events being held in our local communities and experience all that our District has to offer. “
