The satellite TV giant SKY has apologised to a Derry woman after their refusal to offer her a refund left her unable to pay her household bills.
The situation arose after Josephine Canning was overcharged by £50 on her monthly bill following a visit from an engineer from the company.
The 56 year-old then contacted Sky, and told them than she should not have been charged for the visit, whereupon she received her first apology and was told that she would receive a refund.
However, when Ms Canning attempted to pay her electric bill last week, she was told that the payment had not gone through as expected.
It was only then that she discovered that the money had not been refunded to her own account, and that SKY had instead credited towards her next bill.
