A group of children on a school trip in County Derry today discovered a dead body.
The man’s body was found at Magilligan Point this morning.
It was spotted by a small group of children from the Model Primary School in Derry who were there on a school trip.
Once the children raised the alarm, the emergency services were called to the scene.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and a post mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
The children from the Model school returned to Derry this afternoon and measures have been put in place for any of the pupils who were upset by today's events.
