Ireland go into the encounter on the back of an impressive 34-10 victory over Wales at the Principality Stadium last weekend. The injured Dan Sheehan is replaced by Rob Herring in what is Farrell's only change to the Irish starting line-up.
Fabien Galthie's French outfit, who are reigning Grand Slam champions, were less convincing in their opening Six Nations fixture. Les Bleus overcame Italy 29-24 in Rome to get their campaign off to a winning start.
Kick-off is at 2.15pm in Dublin's sold out Aviva Stadium.
