The repair of a control circuit which services street lights in the greater Kingsfort Park area of the Culmore Road in Derry has been welcomed by Sinn Fein Councillor Mickey Cooper..

Councillor Cooper (pictured) said “I have been reporting constant outages of the lights in Kingsfort Park for several years now.

“This has been causing concern in particular for older residents with the fear of house break-ins or falls in the street as the area had been left in complete darkness.

“I am pleased that Road Service have now investigated the problem and have found that a control circuit which services the street lights was the source of the outages."

Cllr Cooper concluded: “This will now hopefully resolve street lighting issues in the area.
