Police in Derry are appealing for information about a number of burglaries.

On Tuesday evening, October 28, a woman returned to her home at Glenbank Gardens in Foyle Springs to find a kitchen window had been broken.

The incident happened between 5pm and 8pm and a quantity of jewellery was stolen.

Also on Tuesday, a house at Woodbrook in the Galliagh area was broken into between 3.30pm and 10.30pm.

Heating oil was also stolen from a house at Jeffrey Avenue in the Waterside on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a number of tools and a laptop computer were stolen from a business unit at Pennyburn Industrial Estate.

The tools included a sander, a polisher and an airgun.

The incident occurred between 11.30am on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday.

Detective Inspector David McQuade said:“If you live in any of those areas and saw suspicious activity, we would like to hear from you.

“We know that burglaries have taken place across the city, so, wherever you are please keep a look out strangers or unusual activity.”
