Police in Derry seized two quad bikes and arrested two young people this afternoon after a couple pushing a pram were nearly knocked down.

The police said that a third young person managed to get away but that they later called to his home.

They issued a warning that if this type of behavior continues they will continue to arrest and prosecute.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Hands up if you’re sick of motorbikes, scramblers and quads tearing about the parks/ estates/ footpaths. Us too!

"Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Team got a call about a couple pushing a pram on the black path who were nearly knocked down by lads on scramblers.

"We went out in force and boxed them in at Ballyarnett Country Park. We got two lads arrested and two bikes seized.

"A 3rd managed to get away but we saw him perfectly and have already called at the house. He needs to do it the easy way and hand himself in.

"If people want to keep going on with this nonsense then we’ll keep seizing bikes, arresting boys and taking them to court."
