Police are appealing for information following a hit and run in Draperstown in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It is understood that a 25 year-old man was struck by a white vehicle at around 3am.

The car failed to stop and made off in the direction of the Sixtowns Road.

The man was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital and treated for injuries, not believed to be life threatening.

A spokesperson for the Western Health and Social Care Trust confirmed today that the man has since been released from hospital.
