A firm of planning consultants based in Derry are to host a community consultation event later this month with a view to gauging public opinion on the building of a large scale retail food store at Springtown.
Waterside based company, MKA Planning says they will hold the consultation event on behalf of their client Bentley Leisure.
The event, which will take place at the Delacroix Bar on Buncrana Road on Tuesday, January 29 between 2-5pm will reveal details of a proposed ‘Food Retail Class 1 Store’ at Unit 1, Springtown Road industrial estate.
MKA Planning Limited is an independent planning consultancy firm, based at Clooney Terrace and handle legal and planning processes for development projects on behalf of their clients.
Initial plans show that the proposed supermarket would be 25,000 square feet in size and have a car park capable of accommodating 200 vehicles.
And, a proposal application notice for planning permission says that councillors in the District Electoral Area where the foods store would be constructed have been informed the plans as have all of Foyle's MLAs and the city's MP.
