People Before Profit have blamed the UDA following the discovery of two viable pipe bombs in the Waterside area of Derry.
PBP spokesperson Davy McAuley condemned the attack and called for an end to violence and intimidation.
"The people who live in Montgomery Close had their lives turned upside down by people whose actions they neither support nor ever want in their area," he said
"This incident is not the first in the area. Recently a Catholic man in Clooney had his house targeted by loyalist paramilitaries with an explosive device. A family were also intimidated from their home in nearby Rossdowney Gardens.
"There is little doubt within the area who is responsible for this latest incident. The UDA seem to be able to operate within the Waterside without fear."
