IRISH GOLFING legend Padraig Harrington gave his advice when trying to keep children interested in sports.
The golf pro stated that a "stress free" environment is the best way for young players to learn their trade and enjoy the sport of golf.
Harrington spoke after he competed alongside his son Ciaran at the PGA Champions Tour and continued by saying "Let them do what they like when they're there. Have a bit of fun. If they want to hit one shot, two shots, ten shots, play in the bunker, look in the water or whatever they want to do, let them.
"If your kids loves the game it's likely that they'll become good, the love for the game has to come first. A stress free environment is vital, kids always feed off your energy."
Padraig insisted that this advice not only worked with golf but throughout every sport that kids were interested in.
