Nurses were attacked during a terrifying incident at a Derry hospital.
A 51 year-old man has appeared before Derry Magistrates Court charged with assaulting three people in Altnagelvin Hospital, including two female staff nurses.
Patrick Farren of Stoneburn Place is charged with three counts of assault, including two assaults on female medical staff, damaging a wall in the treatment room at Altnagelvin Hospital, disorderly behaviour in the A&E Department of the hospital and smoking in the hospital.
The alleged offences are said to have taken place last Friday.
A police officer said that he could connect Farren to the charges.
Farren was remanded in custody and will appear back before the court via video link from prison on February 10.
