Two police officers were injured when their vehicle was rammed in south Armagh.
Both were treated in hospital following the incident in Jonesborough on Monday but returned to work on Tuesday, police said.
A police spokesperson said: “At around 1pm, neighbourhood policing team officers were responding with lights and sirens to reports of a collision when a black Toyota sped away from the police vehicle on Edenappa Road.
“The Toyota, which was not involved in the initial collision report, then struck the police vehicle along with an approaching Citroen van.
“The police vehicle was also pushed by the force of the collision into the rear of a Skoda which had been travelling in front.
“The Toyota then made off from the scene in the direction of the border.
“Both officers required hospital treatment but have returned to duty today.
“The police vehicle will now be off the road for a period for repairs.”
Police have urged anyone with information regarding the vehicle or its driver, or any digital footage captured in the area, to contact officers on 101, quoting reference 718 20/10/25.
Information can also be submitted online using the non-emergency reporting form at http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
