Causeway Coast and Glens count day gets underway

County Derry District Electoral Areas are set to find out who will represent them on the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council today.

Bann, Benbradagh, and Limavady will all have their votes counted by 10pm tonight - if all goes smoothly. 

The Glens should also learn who gets their five seats today.

Candidates in Coleraine, Causeway and Ballymoney will learn their fate tomorrow.

There should be a total of 15 seats determined across the three areas. 

Bann has 11 candidates aiming for success:

  • Ciarán Archibald (Sinn Féin)
  • Sean Bateson (Sinn Féin)
  • Gemma Brolly (Aontú)
  • William Craig (TUV)
  • Richard John Holmes (UUP)
  • Dawn Huggins (DUP)
  • Joe Hutchinson (Alliance)
  • Andrew Kerr (UUP)
  • Michelle Knight-McQuillan (DUP)
  • Jen McCahon (Green Party)
  • Adrian McQuillan (DUP)

Nine candidates in the Benbradagh ward are looking for one of five seats:

  • Sean McGlinchey (Sinn Féin)
  • Kathleen McGurk (Sinn Féin)
  • Dermot Nicholl (Sinn Féin)
  • Niall Murphy (Independent)
  • Liam McElhinney (Aontú)
  • Michael Coyle (SDLP)
  • Robert Carmichael (UUP)
  • Edgar Scott (DUP)
  • Christine Turner (Alliance)

Ten candidates in are vying for five seats in the Limavady Ward:

  • Aaron Callan (DUP)
  • Amy Mairs (Alliance)
  • Ashleen Schenning (SDLP)
  • Barry Crawford (UUP)
  • Billy Stewart (Independent)
  • Brenda Chivers (Sinn Féin)
  • James McCorkell (Independent)
  • John Boyle (Aontú)
  • Jordan Wallace (DUP)
  • Steven Callaghan (DUP)

In the Coleraine ward 11 candidates are competing for five seats:

  • Niamh Archibald (Sinn Féin)
  • Adele Tomb (DUP)
  • Amy Louise Merron (People Before Profit)
  • George Duddy (Independent)
  • Helen Maher (SDLP)
  • John Wisener (UUP)
  • Michael Sweeney (TUV)
