Heartfelt tributes are being paid to a beloved Irish mother and grandmother who died tragically after being struck by a car on Saturday evening.
Theresa Morgan, who was in her 60s, died at the scene of the incident which occurred on the Dublin Road (R135) in Ashbourne, Co Meath at around 7.10pm. Gardaí said she was pronounced deceased at the scene and her body was taken to Our Lady's Hospital, Navan.
The male driver and passenger, both in their 20s, were brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown with injuries understood to be non-life-threatening.
Theresa's sudden passing has left her local community reeling.
In her death notice on RIP.ie, she is remembered as the cherished mother of Denise, Tony and David, a beloved grandmother to Jack, Rose, Emily and Penny, and dearly missed by her partner Pat, her brothers and sisters, extended family and many friends - as well as her "beloved dog Milo."
Messages have flooded in online with friends and neighbours recalling Theresa's kind nature and infectious smile.
"She had a wonderful smile and kindness in abundance," one person wrote. "It was always a pleasure to meet and chat with her. May she rest in eternal peace."
Another tribute read: "Our deepest and heartfelt sympathy… No words can ease the pain of losing a loved one in such tragic circumstances but know that the wider Ashbourne community will be with you all over the coming days, weeks and years."
One family friend added: "She was a fabulous woman with a big heart and always had great chats with her. We hope you find the strength to get through this awful time."
A fourth added: "So Sorry to hear of the passing of such a lovely person in Theresa. Always a joy to meet her, with her infectious smile and great sense of humour."
Funeral arrangements for Theresa will be announced in due course.
