Uisce Éireann update

Uisce Eireann has issued a statement regarding possible disruptions to their services amid Storm Éowyn.

"We are assessing the impact of Storm Éowyn on water supplies across the country following last night’s violent storms. Significant disruption to supply is expected due to widespread power outages impacting on water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping station and other network assets," Uisce Eireann said.

Margaret Attridge, Head of water operations said, "Uisce Éireann is standing up our emergency management processes preparation for Storm Éowyn".

"We are mobilising generators to key sites to manage the risk of water outages, as soon as it is safe to do so our crews will will mobilise and assess the damages to plants and restore supply to customers as soon as possible," Ms Attridge added.

"We will be working closely with the National Emergency Coordination Group and the ESB to coordinate the return of supply to our treatment plans," Ms Attridge added.

"In the event of loss of supply most properties should have 24 hours storage in their attic tanks for your own personal use within your house," she added.
