It has been 14 years since Derry singing sensation Nadine Coyle was thrown off the RTE reality television talent show “Popstars” for “fibbing” about her age
At the time, the Thornhill College pupil, unable to find her passport, told the show’s producers she was 18 when, in fact, she was just 16 – two years younger than the minimum age requirement.
However, that did not deter the Derry teen from fulfilling her dream as she would go on and enter UTV’s “Popstars: The Rivals” and become a member of the highly successful all-girl group Girls Aloud.
Today, she is the doting mother of a baby girl, living in the sunshine state of California in America, reported to be worth $7.5 million and starring in Michael Flatley's hugely successful show, “Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous” and that RTE “episode” a distant memory - that is, until this week.
A clip of the “drama” from 2001 has re-emerged on social media after Alan Flanagan (pictured), a guest at the 30th fancy dress birthday party held for MTV Irish presenter, turned up dressed in Nadine’s “misplaced passport.”
