The mother of a teenage girl who was rushed to hospital after taking a ‘potent’ batch of drugs at a Limavady house party at the weekend has urged young people to be aware.
It is understood that the 17 year-old Dungiven girl went into a fit of convulsions after she was given what is believed to be a new batch of mephedrone.
The girl’s mother, who did not want to be named, said: “I got the absolute fright of my life when I heard that my daughter was rushed to hospital.
“She has never done drugs before but it is obvious that this is a very dangerous batch. She said she was that drunk she doesn’t know who give them to her or why she took it.
“They said that this new mix of drug is extremely potent.”
