A charity walk will be held this weekend in memory of a young Derry man who recently took his own life.

19 year-old Andrew Quigley’s body was recovered from the River Foyle earlier this month.

The Galliagh teenager had been missing for several weeks after items belonging to him were found on the Foyle Bridge.

Andrew’s mother, Colette, has spoken publicly in recent weeks about her son’s battle with drugs and the need for a detox centre in Derry to help people trying to overcome similar problems.

A walk in memory of Andrew will set off from the Sainsbury’s store at Derry’s quayside at 1pm on Sunday.

All proceeds from the walk will be donated to the Foyle Search & Rescue charity which played a leading role in the search for Andrew’s body.
