A businessman worth millions will tonight tell the secrets of his success at an event in Derry.
Martyn Dawes, the founder of Coffee Nation, which he sold for £23m in 2008, is a guest speaker at the iFactory awards in the City Hotel this evening.
Considered one of the UK’s most successful consumer products entrepreneurs of the last decade, he will join fragrance entrepreneur Jo Malone at the event where local start-up companies will be awarded for their innovation.
The winners will be chosen from participants on iFactory - a 48 month EU funded programme designed to provide bespoke innovation support to SMEs across Northern Ireland and the border counties.
After founding Coffee Nation in the late 1990s, Martyn Dawes quickly developed the business to be the UK’s leading brand of self-serve gourmet coffee sold from 600 locations across the UK.
Coffee Nation has been ranked year after year as one of the UK’s fastest growing private companies and has been sold successfully twice, for the second time in 2011, now rebranded Costa Express. It has now sold over 100 million cups of coffee.
