Major security operation underway in Creggan area of Derry

A security operation is currently underway in the Melmore Gardens area of Creggan.

A number of PSNI vehicles arrived in the street this morning and remain there this lunchtime.

Local people reported that a man was arrested in the area this morning.

However, the PSNI has not yet released any details about the operation.
