Residents living in a Maghera housing estate say they are at their wits end over a flooding problem at the rear of their homes.

Householders in Tamney Crescent say the flooding, which has persisted for several years and also affects the Coleraine Road soccer pitch (pictured above), is angering them due to the failure by relevant authorities to deal with the problem.

“They come round our doors looking for votes before elections but what do they ever do for us? They have been promising to fix the flooding for three years now but still we wait,” one resident hit out.

The problem also badly affects local soccer club Maghera Strollers who were forced to call off another game at the weekend due to a waterlogged pitch and now face a backlog of fixtures to try and fulfill.
