Republic of Ireland international, Derry’s James McClean, has visited a homeless charity in his town which he recently made a significant donation. Last Christmas, West Bromwich Albion winger joined with this friend Vincent Sweeney to make a donation to the House in the Wells facility in the Bogside. The facility provides accommodation for up to 24 men who have alcohol problems. The money donated from the from the former Derry City, Sunderland and Wigan Athletic player was used to provide a Christmas dinner users of the centre. The Creggan man and Vincent Sweeney called in to the House in the Wells to see for themselves the work carried out by the charity. While there, McClean, who played a key role in the Republic of Ireland’s European Championship campaign, signed autographs and posed for photographs (pictured) with residents and staff at the local charity. In recent years, the football star has become well-known for his support of charities and fundraising campaigns, particularly in his native Derry.
