Derry model Ashleigh Coyle has been announced as the new She’s Fabulous Miss Intercontinental Ireland & Northern Ireland national director.

21-year-old Ashleigh entered the modelling industry at only 15 years of age, being signed by her first professional modelling agency at 16.

Ms Coyle won her regional heat of Miss World Ireland as Miss Derry 2013 at the age of 17, she then went forward to direct the Miss Derry heat for the following three years.

She is well known for her time time in the Big Brother house and after three long months of isolation, she managed to walk out in second place with only 1.2% of the vote separating her from the winner.

Ms Coyle was also named ‘Reality TV Personality of The Year 2014’.

After taking nearly a year and a half out of the spotlight due to poor mental health, Ashleigh spoke out to encourage people to speak out about their mental health problems.

Local mental health charity ME4MENTAL is one of the affiliated charities of the new competition to make sure that the finalists mental wellbeing is looked after.

Ashleigh has recently been crowned Miss Grand Ireland and will be representing Ireland at the grand final of one of the grand slam pageants worldwide - Miss Grand International in Vietnam this October.

Ms Coyle said she had decided to take up the directorship to give similar opportunities to other women and now she’s on the hunt to find a new Miss Ireland & Miss Northern Ireland to represent Ireland at the international grand final of Miss Intercontinental in November.

The 'She's Fabulous Miss Intercontinental Ireland & Northern Ireland 2017' is sponsored by She's Fabulous Boutique in Garvagh. It will be held in the City Hotel, Derry on Sunday the 17th of September 2017.

Affiliated charities are 'Me4Mental' and local animal refuge centre 'The Rainbow Rehoming Centre For Cats & Dogs'.
