Derry's world-renowned Halloween festival to be extended to week-long celebration this year after extra funding secured

Derry's world renowned Halloween festival is to be extended to a week-long event after an additional £95,000 was secured for the celebrations. The news came at this afternoon's meeting of Derry City and Strabane District Council's Business and Culture Committee, where a council officer said that an additional £95,000 had been secured from Tourism NI for the event, marking the first time the body has allocated money to the Halloween celebrations. The meeting was told that the Halloween 2018 celebrations will run from Friday, October 26 until Saturday, November 3. The additional funding will be used for programming and marketing.
