BREAKING: 23-year-old Derry man appears in court charged with the murder of toddler in the city last year

A 23-year-old Derry man charged with the murder of a toddler has been remanded in custody at the city's Magistrates Court. Liam Whoriskey, Glenabbey Gardens, has been charged with the murder of Kayden McGuinness on September 17 of last year. There were around twenty PSNI officers in the courthouse. Defence Counsel Eoghan Devlin told the court that no bail application would be made. A police officer said he could connect the defendant to the charges and Mr Devlin had no questions in terms of his client's connection. Whoriskey was remanded in custody to appear in court by way of video link on July 5.
