Strong winds brings tree down in Derry park but northwest escapes the worst of Storm Hector

The overnight winds resulted in a tree being snapped in half at Brooke Park in Derry (pictured above), which escaped the worst of Storm Hector last night. There was some minor disruption on the roads this morning, with the Foyle Bridge closed for a short time due to strong winds. However, the high winds have been forecast to last into tonight.
