Derry man to face Crown Court charged with robbing woman while armed with a knife

A Derry man will appear at the local Crown Court charged with with robbing a woman of more than £100 while armed with a knife. Dillon Quigley, 23, of Dove Gardens in the city appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court today. He was charged with robbery on November 29 last and a charge of possessing an offensive weapon namely a knife with intent to commit a robbery. It was accepted there was a case to answer and Quigley said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. He was returned for trial to appear at Derry Crown Court on a date to be fixed and released on continuing bail.
