This week will see the deadline for entries for the annual City Centre Initiative Floral Competition as competitors are urged to have their floral displays at homes and businesses in Derry looking their very best. Each year the City Centre Initiative (CCI) ask city centre businesses and residents to help brighten up the look of our city with their creative floral and plant displays. Have you got hanging baskets, planters or full floral displays decorating your property? Then they would like to hear from you! A spokesperson from CCI said: "Year on year we receive really positive feedback from our visitors and residents on how well the city looks throughout the summer season and that is all thanks to you, who join in and add a little extra or our streetscapes and our sponsors Altnagelvin Pet and Garden Centre, so thank you for continuing to be supportive of this project. This year we have three categories in the competition which are: Public Service/ Charity/ Church Hospitality/ Tourism/ Retail Residential Each category has a Gold, Silver and Bronze award and winners will be awarded vouchers for Altnagelvin Garden and Pet Centre. If you would like to enter this year, please email email@example.com or telephone Aisling on 028 7136 0169 before 1pm on Friday 22nd June 2018." NB: The deadline is this Friday, 22nd June and judging will take place on the morning of Friday 29th June.
