Police confirm that fire at football stadium in Derry was started deliberately, appeal issued for people with information to come forward

Police are investigating the report of a suspicious fire at premises in the Glenshane Road area of Derry. At approximately 9.45pm last evening, Friday, 22 June police received a report that a building was on fire – it sustained extensive damage. PSNI Inspector Louise Cummings said: “Police are treating this fire as suspicious at this time and I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area to contact Police at Strand Road on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1407 22/06/18. "Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
