The results of an online survey that will determine if the Brandywell Stadium is to be renamed in memory of the late Derry City FC captain Ryan McBride will not be released until the autumn, it has been confirmed. The 12-week consultation came to a close yesterday (Sunday, June 1st) after being launched on April 9. The online survey asked the public to vote Yes or No in favour of changing the name of the football stadium at the Brandywell Complex to the 'Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium'. A spokesperson for Derry City and Strabane District Council said that a 'report outlining full details of the consultation will come before members of the Health and Communities Committee in the autumn for consideration'. It is understood this will be either the September or October meeting of the committee.
