Derry man with 78 previous criminal convictions remanded in custody after breaching his bail conditions
4 Jul 2018
A 24-year-old Derry man who has 78 previous criminal convictions has been remanded in custody for breaching previously imposed bail conditions. Adam McMonagle, of no fixed abode, appeared at the Magistrate's Court in Derry after he was arrested on Tuesday. The defendant charged with committing three further offences. McMonagle is charged with stealing a track suit valued at £40 from JB Sports on June 23, entering as a trespasser with intent to steal at a house at Barnewall Place in the Waterside area of the city between April 23 and April 25 and with causing criminal damage to fixtures, fittings and to the contents of a man's house, also between April 23 and April 25. A police officer told District Judge Barney McElholm that he believed he could connect the defendant to the new charges. There was no bail application and the defendant was remanded in custody to appear before the same court for a video link bail application on July 26.
