BREAKING: Former Derry school building completely destroyed in overnight fire

The former Foyle College building on the Northland Road in Derry has been completely destroyed in an overnight fire, just days after warnings that the buiding would be set alight. The building has lain empty since the school moved to its new site on the Limavady Road in the Waterside. However, in recent weeks the building has been subject to ongoing vandalism. On Thursday, the SDLP councillor for the area Shauna Cusack called for the building to be demolished over fears that the building would be set on fire. The blaze has now completely gutted the building, and fire crews are still on site dealing with the incident.
