A 30-year-old local man who was filmed by city centre CCTV operators urinating on Strand Road just outside the Ice Wharf bar earlier this year, was today fined £150 at Derry Magistrate's Court which is sitting in Omagh. Joseph O'Hagan from Cornshell Fields was sitting in a taxi when he was spoken to by police officers who had responded to a call from the CCTV operators. He confirmed to the police that he had urinated on the street but then he became irate when told he was being charged with an indecency offence. In reply to the charge O'Hagan told the police "I don't give a monkey's f***, so what if I f****** pissed". Defence solicitor, Paddy MacDermott, said O'Hagan was so drunk at the time that he remembered nothing about his behaviour. District Judge Greg McCourt said he noted from the court papers in front of him that O'Hagan was arrested later on the same night for another offence and he said clearly the defendant had not learnt his lesson.
