Court told Derry man arrested on Christmas Day tried to damage police vehicle

A 47-year-old Derry man who was arrested on Christmas day tried to damage a police vehicle, a court has heard. Sean Paul Cruickshank, Tullymore Road in the city, appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court sitting in Omagh this morning, where he admitted one charge of attempted criminal damage of a police vehicle on December 25, 2017. The court heard Cruickshank was co-operative but when he was placed in a vehicle he became aggressive. It was said he tried to damage the interior of the vehicle. Defence barrister Stephen Mooney said his client had admitted the offence at the first opportunity and there had been nothing since. Cruikshank was fined £100.
