Another successful year for the summer festival in the Derry village of Strathfoyle

A Derry Councillor has congratulated all those involved in putting on a successful Strathfoyle Festival this week. Sinn Féin Councillor Paul Fleming said “I would like to thank everyone involved in putting on this successful Festival. Like all such festivals a lot of time and energy goes on behind the scenes and many hours of work takes place to pull it all together. “It’s very important that communities like Strathfoyle have these summer  festivals as many times residents feel a bit isolated from the rest of the city. “It can be extremely costly for many parents who don’t have a car and who would have to take several buses to get in and out of the city centre. “And if you are trying to transport a number of young children and prams it can be a very stressful experience.” Picture: Mark Durkan MLA ,Nicola Mallon MLA ,Cllr Gus Hastings,Mayor John Boyle and Cllr Paul Fleming with his daughter Ava Lynn
