Man attacked in his home by knife wielding thieves

By Eamon Sweeney The PSNI are appealing for information after three attackers entered a man's home in broad daylight and inured him with what is believed to have been a knife. The attack took place at around 3pm last Thursday, (August 2) at the victim's home on the Drumderg Road in Draperstown. Police are treating the incident as an aggravated burglary. A spokesperson for the PSNI told the County Derry Post: "It was reported that as the male occupant answered a knock at his front door, three men forced their way into the property, demanding money. "The occupier struggled with the men and sustained a minor injury to his hand from what is believed to have been a knife." Police are looking to speak to anyone with information on the incident and in particular anyone who noticed any suspicious vehicles or activity in the area. Police are also seeking information on a white vehicle that may have been involved in the incident. Detectives investigating the case should be contacted at contacted at Cookstown on the non-emergency number 101 and reference number 809 02/08/18 should be quoted.
