Resurfacing of road in Derry badly damaged by potholes expected to be completed by November
9 Aug 2018
SDLP Cllr Angela Dobbins has welcomed the commitment from Transport NI to resurface the thoroughfare through Cornshell Fields, pictured above. “The road through Cornshell Fields has become in such a state of disrepair and following numerous calls from residents to myself, Cllr Tierney and Colum Eastwood’s office we have highlighted this at every committee meeting with Transport NI,” she said. “We have now been given confirmation that its resurfacing works has been included in this financial year and should commence in the autumn and should be completed by end November. “Also to be included in this financial year schedule of works is the resurfacing of the Ballynagard Road from the junction of the Culmore Road to the end of the residential area of Ballynagard Close. “The repair, where necessary, of the speed ramps will be included on this schedule. "Unfortunately, I have been informed that due to financial constraints the replacement of the 30mph speed signs on entering the village cannot be considered until the next financial budget of 2019.”
