Culmore Country Park in Derry to remain closed until no further risk to the public is confirmed following fire

Culmore Country Park in Derry will be closed until further notice after a fire at the site. A spokesperson for Derry City and Strabane District Council confirmed that Culmore Country Park was closed temporarily due to a small fire, which started in one of the leachate control cabinets at the park. "The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) promptly attended the scene and extinguished the fire," a council spokesperson said. "The area was secured and the park remained closed until there was deemed to be no further risk to the public. "A full investigation will now take place into the incident to ascertain the cause of the fire."
