A Derry Councillor has said Derry man Tony Taylor should be released immediately, 900 days after he was imprisoned. Speaking after attending a recent rally marking Tony’s 900th day in prison, Sinn Féin Councillor Sandra Duffy the party’s leader on Derry City & Strabane District Council said: “Tony Taylor’s ongoing detention is wrong and is an affront to democracy and the justice system. “900 days after Tony Taylor’s arrest and subsequent imprisonment, the British government has failed to produce any evidence which could in any way justify his detention. “Tony’s continued detention placing a considerable strain on his wife, family and parents. “Sinn Féin will continue to raise this matter with both the Irish and British governments until Tony Taylor is released.”
