Hit comedy Derry Girls scoops yet another high profile award

A cult TV show created by a Derry woman and set in our city has been given a major award. Lisa McGee’s hit series won in the Best Comedy Series category at the recent Edinburgh TV festival. It comes just a month after the cult show was named winner of the Radio Times Comedy Champion award. The first series of the nostalgic show was watched by an average of 2.5 million viewers. Filming for the second series of the award-winning comedy is expected to start in the coming weeks.
