Police appeal for witnesses after shots fired at house in Rossnagalliagh while three children were inside

Police received a report that two shots were fired at a house in the Rossnagalliagh area of Derry in the early hours of this morning, Friday 31 August. Detective Inspector Stephanie Finlay said: “We received this report just after 12.20am. Five people – a man, a woman and three children – were in the house at the time. Although none of them was injured, they were left shocked by what happened. “Damage was caused to a vehicle parked outside the property and the living room window was smashed during the incident. “Our enquiries are continuing and I would appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident to contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101.” Alternatively, information can also be provide to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
