Sinn Féin select new councillor for Derry City and Strabane District Council

Derry Sinn Féin have  selected a new councillor  to replace Colly Kelly on the Moor Ward. The new member on Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Sharon Duddy, said:

“I am very proud and humbled that the local cumainn have endorsed me for co-option to represent Sinn Féin on Derry City and Strabane District Council.

“As a long time activist I know the challenges that lie ahead in being an elected representative but I am up the challenge.

“I want to thank Colly for the great work he did locally and for the many years of work he has put in as a Sinn Féin councillor in this area.

"Momentum has been building behind Sinn Féin's platform of equality, rights and Irish unity and I will do all in my power to advance that programme.

“I look forward to representing the people of the Moor Ward over the coming weeks and months.”
