A Derry councillor has called for crash barriers on Southway to be extended 'as a matter of urgency' after two car accidents there within a matter of days. Derry Sinn Féin Councillor Kevin Campbell called for safety measures to be put in place after cars left the road on Wednesday and Saturday at a 'bad bend'. He said “There have been two road accidents on Southway this week during which the vehicles flipped over. “It’s frightening when you see the damage to the vehicles. And I hope anyone injured in these accidents makes a quick recovery. “I will be in contact with Transport NI this week to ask them to extend the crash barriers down to the end of the bad bend on Southway as a matter of urgency."
